The forest

fashion gone rouge

THE FOREST

next year they will be marked

again with circles of paint

like numbers tattooed on wrists

waiting for the train.


The conversation of the trees

is now stunted--

a stricken, amazed

silence echoes.


The caretakers count

their 30 pieces of silver.

The loggers count their

board-feet and drink another beer

As allways, sorry for the sporadic blogging.

I really like these pictures. There were a couple smaller ones I wanted to post too, but Photobucket wasn't really cooperating so I ended up with these three.

Every time I look at the large hat in the last picture I'm reminded of the horse camp I went to, what was it, summer of 05? We had worked on a riding show to present to the parents our last day, and that is basically what my group wore instead of a normal riding helmet. Good times...
